    The market takes place in Leeds City Square, directly adjacent to the train station and major retail and hospitality areas. The Cube on Millennium Square is a different market and runs concurrently to the Market on Leeds City Square. This year, the market is being organised by the team behind THOR’S tipi bar.

    When does the market run?
    From Thursday 19th November to Wednesday 23rd December 2026 (35 days). 

    What are the opening hours?

    • Mon–Wed: 10am – 7pm

    • Thu–Sat: 10am – 9pm

    • Sunday: 11am – 6pm

    All traders must remain open during these hours. 

  • How do I apply?
    Applications are submitted via the website. You’ll need to provide details about your business, products, setup, and relevant certifications. 

    What is the application deadline?
    The deadline is 30th June 2026

    What information do I need to include?

    • Product descriptions and images

    • Proposed cabin setup visuals (where possible)

    • Certifications (e.g. food hygiene, insurance where applicable) 

    How are traders selected?
    Applications are selected based on:

    • Product quality and visual appeal

    • Fit within the overall market mix

    • Pricing range and accessibility

    • Locality (preference for Yorkshire-based traders)

    • Customer appeal across different audiences 

    Are local businesses encouraged to apply?
    Yes – local and Yorkshire-based traders are strongly encouraged, with some discounted options for micro-businesses. 

  • Do I have to trade for the full duration?
    Yes. All traders are expected to operate for the full event and during all opening hours. We are welcome to suggestions, if you’d like to share the Season with another business.

    What standards are expected?
    Traders must:

    • Maintain a high-quality presentation

    • Comply with health & safety and licensing requirements

    • Provide adequate staffing

    • Use recyclable or compostable packaging where possible

    Will there be support on-site?
    Yes. There is a dedicated on-site management team providing operational support throughout the event, including a 24/7 trader support desk.

  • What types of cabins are available?

    • Open cabins (customer entry)

    • Countertop cabins (serving hatch)

    • Available in small and large options

    Are cabins pre-built?
    Yes – all cabins are fully built, decorated, and ready for trading on arrival. If you would like to bring your own cabin, or structure please talk to the team. We welcome creative solutions!

    Can I customise my cabin?
    Branding is allowed within approved areas, but:

    • No signage on sides or rear

    • All branding must be approved

    • Presentation must align with the market aesthetic 

  • How much does it cost to trade?
    Pricing varies by category (e.g. retail, street food, micro-business).

    What are the payment terms?
    Typically:

    • 20% deposit on acceptance

    • Further staged payments before and during the event 

    Is there a security deposit?
    Yes, a £500 refundable security bond is required. 

    Are there additional costs?
    Yes – additional charges may apply for:

    • Power and utilities

    • Optional extras 

  • How is power supplied?
    Power is allocated based on your declared equipment load.

    Do I need to submit electrical requirements?
    Yes, a full electrical load list must be submitted with your application. 

    Are there additional power charges?
    Yes, depending on usage and connection type. Hot food traders may be metered and charged accordingly. 

  • How do deliveries and restocking work?
    Access is managed via scheduled times to ensure safe and efficient site operations. 

    When will I receive setup details?
    Full setup, access, and breakdown schedules are shared during onboarding. 

    Is security provided?
    Yes – there is both daytime and overnight security on-site. 

  • Will my business be promoted?
    Yes – all traders:

    • Feature on the official market website

    • Are included in social media campaigns

    • May be highlighted in trader spotlights 

    What kind of footfall can I expect?
    The market is designed to attract high visitor numbers throughout the festive season, with strong emphasis on dwell time and customer spend. 

    What attractions are on-site?
    The market includes entertainment such as:

    • Tipi bar

    • Live music and performers

    • Twinkle Tree Trail

    • Interactive experiences like curling and karaoke
